NOTD: China Glaze and Essie

I love this colour from China Glaze (although it looks totally different in this picture) it's called Turned Up Turquoise and it's a bold neon turquoise which is absolutely stunning on the nails.  It's a matte finish which I adore and I just couldn't stop looking at my nails - it's a colour and texture which I've never seen in a polish before and I simply loved it (can you tell?).  I say loved as opposed to love, as after about a day and a half it chipped (big time - see picture) and this just isn't cool.  It wasn't just the one chip either, the whole lot just decided to start jumping ship and leaving my nails! This makes me wonder...was it the lack of top coat? If it was, then can anyone recommend a good matte topcoat? I didn't apply one because I didn't want to add any shine, so if anyone has any favourites please let me know.

This was my first try of a China Glaze polish, and in terms of colour, texture and application I couldn't be more happy, but staying power has so far earned a big fat zero...please tell me this isn't the case with all the colours?!!

On my toes, I opted for Essie Super Bossa Nova which looked great against the turquoise of my nails!

    1. It's gorgeous isn't it. I love the matte finish, but do you know of a good matte topcoat? Because the chipping was so bad without.
