First Impressions: Tigi Catwalk Your Highness

I'm a massive fan of Tigi hair products and have been using them for about six years on and off (you've got to switch it up every now and again).  In terms of shampoo and conditioners so far I've used
-  Self Absorbed
- Brunette Goddess
- Styleshots Epic Volume
- A Rockaholic one that I can't remember the name of...(helpful I know)
Some of them I've repurchased and some I've been glad to finish to be honest (I always get the tweens and at 750ml per bottle that's a lot of hair washes!!)

This is the first set from the Catwalk range that I've every tried and I've got very mixed feelings I've got to admit.  After my first use of this I was astounded, it really did give me great volume and once I'd styled it my hair seemed to keep it's shape and volume for ages, which is very rare with my pancake flat locks! Sadly, after my second wash I was left with limp hair that felt heavy and ladened with product still.  I thought that maybe I was being an idiot and had suffered temporary amnesia and forgotten how to wash my hair properly, but this turned out not to be the case as I've made a mental note to be super super extra thorough when washing the product out but still more often than not my hair feels a bit lank and product laden. I'm hoping that this will miraculously change, and I'll fall in love with this tween, but until then I'm staying put on the fence!

I'll let you know if my thoughts change!

Have you ever used this range? If so, what did you think of it? What's your favourite shampoo and conditioner?

Can a tweezer really be too good?

I ask this question because I thought the answer was 'surely not', and having left my trusty Boots Precision Grip Slanted Tweezers in Cardiff when I came home for Easter, I went out and purchased these Tweezerman LTD Slanted Tweezers which carry a much heftier price tag thinking that I was making an investment and I'd have them for yonks.  This is probably the case, I expect they will last well as I find Tweezerman to be a reliable brand who make good quality stuff to help you look pruned and pretty.  However, and this is potentially a very individual however, I think these tweezers are just too sharp, and they seem to cut the hair rather than pluck it, which is not the desired result otherwise i'd just whip the razor out wouldn't I?!  I remember once I was having a wax (with a new beautician) and I said I plucked in between waxing and she asked me how did I know I was plucking the hairs rather than snapping them off, and I just thought what a silly question, of course I know I'm plucking them because my tweezers grab the entire hair and the little root is plain as day.  I now understand her query because these tweezerman tweezers do seem to just sheer off the hair instead of yanking the little blighter out!!

For a lot of people this might not be a problem other than the fact that you'd just have to pluck more often.  But personally I find it very bothersome. I've been having my eyebrows, bikini line and thighs waxed for about eight years and as a result my hairs have finally begun to grow back a lot finer, and more sparse and this is because I don't shave them off, I just get the suckers by the root!  Anyway this has given me somewhat of a phobia about cutting these hairs off at skin level (shaving or otherwise) as I fear that I will once again have monstrous dark hairs  (this particularly applies to my thighs as obviously my eyebrows are black and that's totally fine!)

Am I the only one who has found this with tweezerman tweezers? Or indeed any other brand? Or am I just using them wrong? And on the other hand, which tweezers do you think do the trick for you?

Silky Smooth Hair

When I was about 14 I was really into hair serums, but by 16 I'd pretty much given up on them altogether.  A couple of months ago there was a deal on John Frieda in Superdrug so I thought I'd give this serum a go and see if I could reconnect with what I used to love about them.

I fell straight back in love after the very first time.  I proceeded to blow dry and straighten my hair, and I was left with the silkiest, shiniest locks (one of my boy mates, a rugby playing, floppy haired boy at that, even commented on how lovely it looked!).

I've been using this product a couple of times a week since then, applying it at the very end of my shower while my hair is soaking wet (just smoothing one pumps worth through my mid lengths to ends), before getting out and whipping it into a turban.
