This makeup look was completely inspired by Amarixe and her Stars N' Rockets tutorial on her YouTube channel - I saw it and I thought I had to give it a go (see this post for swatches of my inspired purchases).  I didn't have all the same products that are used in the tutorial, but life is about compromise and improvisation so that didn't bother me! I would never have thought that I could pull off wearing a colour like Stars N' Rockets (hey, some of you may think I still can't) but I was determined to give it a try, and I am so glad I did - I love the look!  I used tape, like suggested to get a really defined line but I found this to be a bit annoying, it did work, but I found it left a residue which I could not blend away, and it took my foundation with it (which isn't too much of a problem but it did look gross!)

I'm beginning to think that maybe my beloved Studio Finish isn't all that right for me, I think the fact it is SPF 35 means it has major flash back and actually ends up accentuating my dark circles - what do you think? Has anyone else had this problem? Or are my dark circles just too impenetrably dark?!

What do you think of this look? Is it something you'd like to try?

  4. I love those shades! I'll have to try something similar, I use to love wearing purples! I use tape to do my eyeshadow too (when I'm going for a dramatic look) and I find it helps if you put lots of powder on first to stop the sticky tape taking off the foundation, or just buff over the lines slightly with a bit of powder :) x
